It’s quick and easy to set up a Facebook page, and you’ll get guided through it with a step by step process. Just have a think before hand to make sure that you’ve got all the information you want to share on the page ready.
Things to think about before setting up your page
- Name availability: Do a check to make sure your outlet name is available by doing a Google and Facebook search.
- Look and feel: All of your social channels should look and feel the same, so make sire that you’ve got strong imagery and a logo before you get started. You’ll notice that Facebook asks for special size dimensions on things like the banner, so make sure you have different sizes to fit.
- Your ‘About us’ page: You’ll be asked to add some information about your outlet. Take some time to think about your outlets story, history and the sort of atmosphere a customer should expect.
- Add a ‘Call to Action’ button: You can add this on your cover photo, so that customers could go through to your site or choose to book a table. This way customers have an easy and simple way to get through to your site or book with you.
Step by step guide to setting up your page
- Go to www.facebook.com/pages/create and either login or create a new account if you don’t have one already.
- If you’ve already got an account, you can go straight through to ‘Get Started’ for Business or Brand.
- Fill in your account name, category and your business address and contact number.
- Add a profile picture (170 x 170 pixels) and cover photo (820 x 462 pixels). The profile picture will show when people search for your page and the cover photo will display at the top of your page. We suggest that your profile picture is your logo and then use a lifestyle image as your cover image.
- Add your information. You can add this by going into ‘Settings’ and ‘Page info’. Here you’ll be asked to add in things like; Description, Category, Contact information, Location and opening hours.
