8 tips to get your outlet ready for reopening
Government guidance on reopening outlets is constantly changing, so before implementing changes, make sure that you’re up to date on the latest guidance. Below you’ll see some of our suggestions for how to get your outlet ready to reopen and make it as smooth and easy as possible.
1. Order stock
With some logistics taking slightly longer than normal, it’s best to get orders in early. Take a stock check to see what’s needed and then place as soon as you can to ensure delivery (and stocking) before you reopen. The quickest and easiest way to do this is through Carlsberg Shop. Simply register your account and you’ll be able to get started straight away.
2. Table plan
You may need to move tables and seating around in your outlet to make sure that they are all at least 1 metre apart. You may also want to consider how many customers can sit at each table. Having tables apart will help limit contact among customers.
3. Entrance and Exit
If possible try to introduce a one way system using different doors to enter and exit. If you can’t do this, then think about how you can monitor the flow of people coming in and out. Display your guidelines so that customers can see the steps you are taking such as using sanitizer, online ordering and 1+ meter distancing.
4. Inform your team about reopening
Make sure that you keep your team are in the loop and check that they’ll be free to work when you reopen. It’s also a good idea to get them involved in what changes you’ll make to the restrictions when reopening so that they can help support the new way of working.
5. Order PPE equipment
There are different types of equipment that team members can use, this can be down to the team member to choose whether or not they use it. Basic equipment such as masks, gloves and eyewear are good places to start.
6. Deep clean
You may want to spend a good few days cleaning the whole of your outlet. Removing furniture and giving it a deep clean. This way it’s also easier to keep on top of when you’ve reopened.
7. Check equipment
Things like your dispense systems and cellar equipment will all need checking because they’ve been out of use for so long. Make sure you test this well in advance in case you need to book any technical support.
8. Emergency lights and fire extinguisher
Finally, it’s a good idea (and opportunity) to check over any of your safety equipment like the emergency lights and fire extinguishers.
